Summary: After an influx of new volunteers at a local animal shelter, this instructor led training has been added as part of the initial training process to familiarize volunteers with the procedures for walking dogs at the shelter.

Challenge: A big influx of new volunteers has led to miscommunication of the procedures used to walk shelter dogs.

Solution: This training was designed as part of the initial volunteer onboarding process to make sure procedures are communicated clearly before volunteers begin interacting with and walking shelter dogs. Volunteers will followup with one-on-one experience walking dogs under the supervision of a more experienced volunteer.

Solution: Volunteers are given a clear introduction to dog walking procedures prior to hands on experience with a more experienced shelter volunteer.
